Southend on Sea

When I laid out the plan for my life when I was a kid, London was never on my list of places to live, so it’s safe to say that Essex never even crossed my mind. My first Essex encounter was watching Little Britain’s spoof character Vicky, the vulgar overweight, heavily make-up’d teenager who had an endless supply of Adidas jackets and spoke in the “like, no, but yeah, but no, but yeah” fashion.

I have to say that now that I’ve seen it for myself, they’re not far off, but my town has more to offer then the crass and poorly attired. There are veautiful littlw pockets with Georgian homes and flower-filled parks. Considering the costs of living in London, I think the well-bred are starting to smarten up an move out here. And while I very much hope that my Southend tenure will be shorts, these civiliz(s)ed signs make for pleasant day to day. Here are a few of the lovely parts of Southend:
