{Dorothy’s Dress up for auction}


 Can you put a price on the most popular checkered blue and white dress of all time? Apparently yes. We’ll soon find out what the little gingham pinafore with white puffy sleeves that went from black and white to technicolour will go for when it hits the chopping block next month. Early estimates are already aimed at the half a million mark. While other versions of the dress were made for the film, this is the one that we see in the movie and the only surviving version left to date. Unlike the dress, there are five known pairs of the infamous red ruby slippers, one pair was stolen in 2006 and hasn’t been recovered. If I was liquid, this is just the kind of movie memorabilia I would throw my number plate up for, second best option would be to put my Halloween costume complete with Toto plush from days long gone on a mannequin and stick it in a glass capsule…
